The municipality of Comanche is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Comanche is one of eight municipalities in the Pacajes province and is located in the northern part of the province. It borders the Municipio Caquiaviri to the west, the Municipio Coro Coro to the south, the Province of Aroma to the east , and the Province of Ingavi to the north .
The municipality comprises 31 localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Comanche with 492 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.
geography
The municipality of Comanche is located at an average altitude of 4000 m south of Lake Titicaca on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The region has a distinct daytime climate, with temperature fluctuations being greater during the day than during the year.
The mean annual temperature of the region is 7 ° C (see climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate only slightly between 4 ° C in June / July and 9 ° C in December. Annual precipitation is around 550 mm, with monthly precipitation ranging from less than 10 mm from May to July and 100 to 150 mm from January to February.
