The Municipio Waldo Ballivián is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality Waldo Ballivián is one of eight municipalities in the province of Pacajes and is located in the northeastern part of the province. It borders the Municipio Coro Coro to the west and south , and the Province of Aroma to the east and north .
The municipality comprises six localities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is Tumarapi with 2,026 inhabitants in the northeast part of the municipality. ( 2012 )
geography
The municipality Waldo Ballivián is located at an average altitude of 4000 m south of Lake Titicaca between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano.The region has a pronounced daytime climate, in which the average temperature fluctuations during the day are more pronounced than in the course of the seasons.
The mean annual temperature is 7 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate only marginally between 4 ° C in July and 8.5 ° C in December (see Comanche climate diagram).
