Crisix is a Spanish thrash metal band from Barcelona , which was founded in 2008 under the name Crysys .
history
The band was founded in February 2008 under the name Crysys by drummer Javi Carrión and bassist Marc Torras. Shortly afterwards the guitarists Marc Busqué and Albert Requena joined them. At the first concert in the band's history, the actual singer could not attend the concert, so Julián Baz took the position of singer. After the band had won the national contest Martohell Metal Rumble in 2008, the group in the summer of 2008 took the single Dead by the Fistful of Violence in Akord's Studio , which on the compilation Spain Kills by Xtreem Music was included. In December, Internal Pollution and Mummified by Society, two more songs were recorded at Akord's studio. The demo Demonsthrashion was created from the three songs so that the band can take part in the W: O: A Metal Battle Spain 2009. After winning this, the group went to Germany for the final in summer 2009 , which they also won. As a result, the band reached a contract with Wacken Records , with the debut album The Menace being recorded at Stage One Studio .
At the beginning of 2010, work on The Menace began together with Waldemar Sorychta ( Sodom , Lacuna Coil , Moonspell , Tristania , Samael ). A few weeks later, Wacken Records announced to the band that the label could no longer support them, so in November 2010 the recordings in the Axtudios . Two months after the end of the recordings, the band returned to Germany in February, where the album was mixed and mastered by Andy Classen in Stage One Studio . A few months before the album was released, the band received a complaint from Sony that there was already a video game of the same name , so the group changed their name to Crisix. In February 2011, the band reached a contract with Kaiowas Records , about which the debut album The Menace was released in September . The release was followed by appearances with Angelus Apatrida , Onslaught , Dark Tranquility , Legion of the Damned , Artillery , Necrodeath , Bonded by Blood , Gama Bomb , Fueled by Fire , Lazarus AD and EvilDead .

The band plays classic, fast-paced Thrash Metal, which is based on that from the San Francisco Bay Area .
