The Cristillan is a river in France , who in the Hautes-Alpes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur runs. It rises in the municipality of Ceillac , in the Queyras Regional Nature Park , below the Tête de la Cula , at an altitude of about 2868 meters. It drains in a generally westerly direction through the mountainous landscape of Queyra and flows into the Guil as a left tributary after around 20 kilometers in the municipality of Guillestre in the backwater of a small weir near Maison du Roy . In the lower reaches, the water of the river is used for the operation of hydropower plants and for the same purpose it is also branched off into the southern neighboring valley via the Canal Salva .
