The Crkvenica ( Serbian - Cyrillic Црквеница ) is a Bosnian river. It is a right tributary of the Vrbanja .

It rises between the north-western slopes of the mountains Očauš and Šipraška brda near Šiprage (municipality of Kotor Varoš ) at about 1,200 m above sea level and flows south-east. The river drains the central part of the northern slopes of the Dinaric Alps and flows into Šiprage after a length of 12 km. He is known for his water mills; in the 1950s one counted around 18. The narrow headwaters lies in the area of the confluence of the Vrbas and Bosna .

The grave stones of tufa riverside are a relic from the Bogomils -Siedlung in the 12th century. The stecci (tombstones) were originally located at the mouth of the Crkvenica and Vrbanja. After their demolition, they were built into the walls of the surrounding buildings, possibly believing in their miraculous powers. One of the best preserved tombstones is in its original place at the bottom of the Vrbanja River.
