The Cuivre is a river in France that runs through the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Center-Val de Loire regions. It rises near the hamlet of Le Chêne de la Danse in the southwestern municipality of Champignelles , generally drains in a northerly direction and flows into the Ouanne as a left tributary after around 23 kilometers in the municipality of Douchy-Montcorbon . Below the Marchais concrete , the Cuivre crosses a stretch of several sinkholes and there, in parts, disappears into the chalky subsoil. On its way, the river crosses the Yonne and Loiret departments .
