The Curt Siodmak Prize is a German film prize that has been awarded annually since 2003 for films and series in the field of science fiction . The prize is awarded by the Science Fiction Club Germany (SFCD) and Thomas Sessler-Verlag in the categories “Best Film” and “Best Series”. In addition, a German production can be awarded a special prize. The award takes place on the basis of a vote in which anyone can participate. The basis for voting is a list of eligible works, which should contain all films and series of the genre that were premiered in German in the previous year. The recipients of the undoped prize will be announced at the annual SFDC Congress.

The name of the award honors the memory of Curt Siodmak , who emigrated to the USA , who did not respond with the script for FP1 and who wrote two outstanding models for classic science fiction films for the novel Donovan's Brain .
