Cypress Hill ( English for cypress hill ) is the self-titled debut album by the US rap group Cypress Hill . It was released on August 13, 1991 via the Ruffhouse and Columbia Records labels , and went double-platinum in the US for more than two million units sold .
Cover design
The album cover is split in half. On the left is the Cypress Hill logo in red. It consists of a skull with a cannabis leaf on its head and a spear running straight through its nose. Above and below the skull are the words Cypress and Hill . Another spear runs vertically through the logo. On the right you can see a black and white photo of the band members standing between the garbage and burning bins.

In the US, the album rose to number 31 and was able to stay in the charts for a total of 89 weeks. Cypress Hill did not reach the German charts .
The Phunky Feel One / How I Could Just Kill a Man , Latin Lingo and Hand on the Pump were released as singles, none of which could be placed in the German Top 100.
