Rise Up ( English for uprising ) is the eighth studio album by the US rap group Cypress Hill . It was released on April 16, 2010 and is the band's first release on the Priority Records label and the first studio album since 2004.
content
In terms of content, Rise Up remains close to the previous albums. In addition to the pure hip-hop songs, there are also a few crossover songs ( Rise Up , Trouble Seeker , Shut 'Em Down ) included. There are also tracks that extol marijuana and cannabis consumption ( Pass The Dutch , KUSH ) on the album.
production
Rise Up is Cypress Hill's first album not largely produced by DJ Muggs . This only contributed two beats. The other Cypress Hill member B-Real , however, was involved in eight productions and also acted as an executive producer . Other beats were produced by more or less well-known artists ( Mike Shinoda , DJ Khalil , Pete Rock , Jim Jonsin, Sick Jacken, Jake One). Musicians from the rock genre ( Tom Morello , Daron Malakian ) also took part in the production.
Cover design
The album cover features a red flag that reads Rise Up and is held up by three hands. The words Cypress and Hill are located above the picture . The background is black, with the Cypress Hill logo in red in the upper left corner.
