DecaNation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The DecaNation is an international competition in athletics .

History and structure

The DecaNation was first held on September 3, 2005 and takes place every year at the end of the open-air athletics season. The organizer and host is the French Athletics Federation. Every year France invites up to seven other nations to take part in a comparison competition. Competitions are held in, as the name suggests, ten disciplines that are based on the decathlon, but deviate regularly. The scoring is complete. Men and women are rated together and there are no individual honors. Prize money will be distributed to the teams after placement.
