Dörfel is a district of the Saxon town of Schlettau in the Erzgebirge district .

The Waldhufendorf Dörfel is located about 3 kilometers north of Schlettau in the Ore Mountains . The place stretches about 1 kilometer starting on the right bank of the Zschopau up the slope to the east. State road 267 Tannenberg - Crottendorf runs through the valley of the Zschopau , via which there is also a connection to Hermannsdorf on the left bank. Dörfel is connected to Frohnau via a local road.

The former immediate official village of the Grünhain office was first mentioned in 1411 as daz Dorffichin . In the past a ford led through the Zschopau. At the end of the 16th century, there was intensive iron mining. The village used to have two mills and an inheritance court. At the beginning of the 19th century the population was 224. In terms of the church, Dörfel belonged to Elterlein until 1559 and has been parish to Hermannsdorf since then .

In 1886 a wood grinding and cardboard factory was founded as the first large industrial company. A schoolhouse was inaugurated in 1892, and a new school and a syringe house were built in 1926.

On October 1st, 1996 Dörfel was incorporated into Schlettau.
