Geographical location

Dörmbach is a scattered settlement around 3.5 kilometers from the core town of Dipperz and is located southeast of it in the Rhön . The largest part of the district drops to the north in the direction of Wanne , a right eastern tributary of the Haune . A small corner of the district in the southwest lies behind a hill in the source area of the Haune. The district area is 313 hectares (1961), 91 hectares of which are forested.

The Unterdörmbach homestead group ( 451  m ) and the two Oberdörmbach homestead groups ( 481  m ) are located on the actual Dörmbach . To the east are the Friedenstein, Nollberg and Mooshecke farms . In addition, there are the Kirchberg and Kieshof farms on Landstrasse in the west and the Kneshecke holiday complex a little beyond the Landstrasse .

history

The earliest surviving mention of Dornbach comes from 1570.

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the last small communities such as Dörmbach (Fulda) lost their independence by law. Thus, with effect from August 1, 1972, the municipalities of Armenhof , Dipperz, Dörmbach (Fulda), Finkenhain , Friesenhausen , Kohlgrund , Wisselsrod and Wolferts were merged into one municipality with the name Dipperz .

Transport and infrastructure

The state road 3377 leads through the district Dörmbach from Friesenhausen to Dietershausen . Starting from the L 3377, the Knesheckenweg opens up the holiday village as well as the hotel and catering establishments west of the Landstraße, and starting from Friesenhausen the courtyards of the scattered settlement are opened up to traffic by the almost 3.9 km long south loop of the Dörmbacher Ring .
