History and description

The Dörrienschule was founded as a private school at the beginning of the founding period of the German Empire in 1872 .

The building at Davenstedter Straße 31 was not erected until 1891 with an architecture appropriate for the middle class of the time. The decor was based on an architecture previously formulated in the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

The building harmonizes as a southern visual end to the - younger - Beethovenstraße . However, it was not used as a drying school until around 1910.
