The Dürnbach is the slightly less than 7 km long left upper course of the Aurach in the Mangfall Mountains in the area of the Schliersee market in the Bavarian district of Miesbach .
geography
course
The Dürnbach arises in the alpine pasture area of the Freudenreichalm a little north of the inn on the lower alpine pasture, then flows through the forest initially northwards and later in a gorge along the north-west side of the Bergsporn Dürnbachlüßes and then enters the flat settlement area of the village Neuhaus , which it eastwards passes through. At the lower edge of the village it flows together with the Ankelbach zur Aurach , a Leitzach tributary, which comes from a Waldtobel on the Dürnbachlüß from the southwest and also runs through the village . The Ankelbach is the smaller upper course in terms of length and the catchment area, but is still officially the main upper course.
The Dürnbach itself is 6.7 km long and heavily built-up in Neuhaus for flood protection.
Catchment area
The Dürnbach drains a catchment area of 4.6 km² in the Mangfall Mountains in the Northern Limestone Alps . On its course in the forest it takes in a few short streams and spring drains. Its catchment area borders in the north that of the Schliersee , which drains over the Schlierach into the Mangfall , in the east that of the aforementioned Ankelbach, in the south that of the Brandenberger Ache , a direct tributary of the Inn , in the west that of the Rottach , which originates from the Mangfall Tegernsee feeds, in the northwest that of the Schlierach upper reaches. The 1669 m above sea level. NHN highest point is near the southern tip on the western watershed on the Bodenschneid .
