The Bodenschneid is a 1668 m high mountain in the Schlierseer Mountains in the Mangfall Mountains .
Location and surroundings
It rises between Tegernsee , Schliersee and Spitzingsee and is therefore in the southern district of Miesbach exactly on the border between the communities of Rottach-Egern in the west and Schliersee in the east.
The Bodenschneid is a long, open mountain ridge with steep breaks to the north. To the northwest of the summit, a ridge called Peißenberg bears the little-known elevations Rinnerspitz , Wasserspitz and Rainerkopf . The pasture area of the Bodenalm extends on the south side of the summit ridge.
The summit cross (with book) is one of the largest in Bavaria. The slightly lower east summit (1,653 m) is also decorated with a cross.
Around 300 m below the highest point, to the northwest, lies the Rettenböckalm with the year-round ground cutting house , an accommodation hut of the German Alpine Club .
Ascent
The summit is from the Fischhausen-Neuhaus train station on the south bank of the Schliersee via Spitzingsee, lower Firstalm (optionally via the Suttenstein and the south ridge or around the Krettenburg via the Nordsteig), from the Spitzingsattel via the upper Firstalm and the Nordsteig, from the Sutten area (Moni- Alm) or from Enterrottach (in the southeast of the Tegernsee , municipality of Rottach-Egern ) as a mountain hike. The shortest ascent from the Stümpfling (chairlifts from Sutten and Spitzing) past the Suttenstein over the gently rising south ridge takes one and a half hours.
In winter, many ski tourers and snowshoe hikers are drawn from Fischhausen via the Bodenschneidhaus, this is the classic normal ascent, first through a lot of forest to the hut and finally quite steeply to the free summit.
history
The poacher Georg Jennerwein was shot on November 6, 1877 on the Peißenberg near the saddle between Rinnerspitz andwasspitz . There is a memorial plaque there.
