The ground cutting house is 1353 m above sea level. NHN on the Rettenböckalm in the Schlierseer Mountains in the Mangfall Mountains , a part of the Bavarian Prealps between Tegernsee and Schliersee under the summit of the Bodenschneid in a quiet alpine area. It is owned by the Bodenschneid section (based in Munich ) of the German Alpine Club .
history
1906 Purchase of a small alpine pasture by the Alpine Club section of the DAV, in 1916 a new main building was completed. When the Würmgau section joined the Alpine Club, the section was renamed Bodenschneid. In 1960 and 1965 the main building was then extended.

- in winter from the car park in the Breitenbachtal (Schliersee / Breitenbach), walking time: 2 hours
