geography
The Firstalm lies at the end of a valley that runs between Brecherspitz in the north and Stümpfling in the south and is about 2.5 kilometers from the Spitzingsee. Tourism
The Berggasthof Untere Firstalm is located in a small cluster of buildings on the valley floor and about 400 meters northeast of it and around 50 meters higher is the Berggasthof Obere Firstalm .
The Firstalm is an easy hiking destination, especially for families. But it can also be a stopover for longer tours, for example to the Brecherspitz or to Stümpfling and Roßkopf .
Although the Firstalm is not a real ski area, both inns offer special winter sports events. Every year on Mardi Gras Sunday, the ski carnival takes place around the Untere Firstalm. It is one of the oldest ski carnivals in Upper Bavaria and has been attracting strangers and locals to go crazy in the snow since the mid-1960s.
The Obere Firstalm is the starting point of a toboggan run. This runs on the road closed to public traffic from the restaurant over 2.5 kilometers with a difference in altitude of about 250 meters to the Spitzingsattel .
