The Düsselhügelland is a natural spatial unit in North Rhine-Westphalia with the order number 337 1 .18.
The gently undulating hill country (200 to 250 m) includes the upper catchment area of the Düssel and its tributaries ( Eigenbach , Brucher Bach , Holzer Bach ) between the source and the Wülfrath village of Düssel . In addition to the south-eastern Wülfrath districts and districts of Düssel, Schlupkothen , Koxhof , Aprath , Ober- and Unterdüssel , the Wuppertal residential area Eckbusch is also part of the natural area.
Geologically, the hill country consists of Upper Devonian slates , sandstones and greywacke with limestone banks of the Velbert layers . It rises clearly above the Wülfrather and Dornaper sinks .
