The DCS Amethyst is a 2003/04 built cabin Passenger ship Premicon AG , which under the ship management of KD Cruise Services Ltd. and is used in the time charter by the Nagler tour operator DCS-Touristik GmbH for river cruises on the Danube .

history

The DCS Amethyst was the fourth of a total of six almost identical river cruise ships that was commissioned as an investment project by Premicon AG from the Nobiskrug shipyard in Rendsburg . The limited partnership was around 8 million euros - the investment of investors was around 7 million euros . The ship was individually equipped and painted according to the wishes of the first chart participant, the Swiss Globus Cosmos Group. The shipyard handed over the completed ship to the client in April 2004. On May 6th, the ceremonial christening under the name Artistry took place in Mainz - the godmother was Gemma Albek, the tour operator's daughter. The charter contract was not extended by Globus in 2010 despite the two-year option. Since 2011 there has been a transport contract with the Nagler tour operator DCS Touristik which runs until 2014. The ship was repainted in early 2011 and renamed DCS Amethyst .

Furnishing

With her sister ship Bolero in Budapest

The DCS Amethyst is a four-deck cabin ship of the 4-star category with 87 double cabins of 15 m² and two suites of 22 m². The cabins, which are separated from one another by double walls for noise insulation, are air-conditioned and are each equipped with radio, satellite TV, minibar, safe and telephone. The cabins on the main and upper decks have a French balcony; the windows on the lower deck cannot be opened for safety reasons.

Behind the bow thruster room on the lower deck are 28 passenger cabins, which are connected by a staircase to the main deck. In the aft section there are supply and storage rooms as well as the 24 crew cabins. The main deck has an open deck at the bow, which is used as a relaxation area by the guests of the wellness area behind . This is followed by 44 cabins, which are separated by the entrance hall into areas of 12 and 32 units. On the upper deck at the bow there is the lounge with bar, which is connected to the café. The restaurant with 172 seats is located in the central nave, followed by the kitchen and 17 cabins aft. On the sun deck that begins behind the driver's cab, deckchairs and seating groups are available to passengers. The DCS Amethyst has no elevators or stair lifts and is therefore not suitable for passengers with reduced mobility.
