The vehicles of the series L 2 of the Pfalzbahn are B-coupled narrow-gauge tank locomotives of the type B n2t . They were classified as class 99 00 with the road numbers 99 001–005 on the Deutsche Reichsbahn . They were named KLINGBACH, REHBACH, GEINSHEIM, FREISBACH and WEINGARTEN and the Palatinate numbers XXIII to XXVII.
procurement
The procurement took place in two construction lots. With the first two machines were procured for the newly opened Alsenz – Obermoschel local railway in 1903 . The second construction lot for three machines took place in 1905 for use on the Speyer – Neustadt local railway . The machines were initially only used on their respective main routes. But later there were also implementations.
Whereabouts
After the establishment of the Reichsbahn , all machines were taken over. There they were given the numbers 99 001 to 99 005 . The first locomotive was retired in 1931, the last in 1945.

frame
Riveted sheet metal frame, the front part designed as a water tank.
boiler
The locomotives had a two-section, riveted long boiler, the steam dome with spring balance safety valve was located on the first boiler section. The boiler pressure was 12 atm.
drive
Supported at four points with individual springs, springs above the running plate. Driving and coupling wheel diameter 855 mm.
Engine
Two-cylinder wet steam engine, drive on the second coupled axle.
control
External Stephenson control with inclined flat slides.

Suction air brake of the Körting type, effect of both coupling axles on one side from the front.
Stocks
The machines carried 1.4 m³ of water and 0.6 t of coal .
