Dabnou is a village in the rural community of Tajaé in Niger .

The village is located about eleven kilometers south-east of the municipality capital Tajaé. The rural community belongs to the Illéla department in the Tahoua region . Dabnou is conveniently located on national road 29 , which divides here: into a main route, which takes about 29 kilometers to the south-west to reach Tsernaoua , and a secondary route that leads about 27 kilometers to the southeast to Malbaza . National road 29 runs northwards over a distance of around 83 kilometers to the regional capital Tahoua . In front of the village of Dabnou in the south is the hamlet of Dabnou Zango Gabass.

The village initially belonged to the canton of Illéla . With the creation of communities in 2002, Dabnou was added to the Badaguichiri rural community . At the turn of the 20th to the 21st century, the community changed to the rural community of Tajaé. In administrative terms , the village was previously divided into the villages of Dabnou I and Dabnou II, each managed by their own traditional chiefs ( chefs traditionnels ).

At the 2012 census, Dabnou had 7,861 inhabitants who lived in 1,151 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 3,871 in 606 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 6,160 in 1,152 households.

In Dabnou there is a school founded in 1963, which was expanded to include a kindergarten in the 2005/2006 school year.
