The Daewoo G2X is identical to the Opel GT , which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006 and was voted Convertible of the Year 2007. The G2X was made for the Korean market. Like the Opel GT, it is based on the Kappa platform (front engine, rear drive) of the Opel parent company GM , on which the Pontiac Solstice , for example, is also built. The G2X is made in Korea; the Solstice, Saturn Sky and Opel GT, on the other hand, are in Wilmington in the US state of Delaware .
technology
The model has a 2.0 l turbo Ecotec four-cylinder engine with an output of 194 kW (264 hp), direct petrol injection , double variable camshaft adjustment and a twin -flow turbocharger with charge air cooling . Six and eight cylinder engines were rejected by GM. The engine is derived from the 2.2-liter engine already familiar from the Opel Vectra and the Signum .
The maximum torque is 353 Nm , the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds and the top speed is 229 km / h (factory data that refer to acceleration up to 60 miles per hour and incorrectly translated were as 0 to 100 km / h). A manual 5-speed sports transmission, a limited-slip differential and a sports suspension are standard.
The Daewoo G2X is 4100 mm long, 1813 mm wide, 1274 mm high and has a 2415 mm wheelbase. Like the Opel Speedster , the GT also has a soft top.
Other special features
The center of gravity is very low. Together with the balanced 51:49 front / rear weight distribution, this enables high cornering speeds with a lateral acceleration of up to 1.35 g (Sachskurve - Hockenheimring).
Another feature of the chassis is a torsion support between the transmission and the rear axle, which absorbs load change reactions when accelerating and braking.
