Daisuke Narimatsu ( Jap. 成松大介 , Narimatsu Daisuke * 24. December 1989 in Kumamoto Prefecture ) is a Japanese boxer in the lightweight .

Career

Daisuke Narimatsu is left-handed , 172 cm tall and started boxing in 2005 at the age of 16. His coach is Yoshiyuki Hirano, also from the Sports School of the Self-Defense Forces .

His first major success was the second place at the Japanese Championships in 2009, when he was able to defeat three experienced opponents and was only eliminated in the final against the Olympian Satoshi Shimizu . He won his first national championship the following year at the Japanese championships in 2010, when he succeeded in beating Chikashi Kawada in the final and winning the bantamweight title. In 2011 he won the national lightweight championship by beating Kenji Fujita in the final and was accepted into the national team.

In 2012 he tried to qualify for the London Olympics and took part in the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Astana . In the first fight he defeated the Turkmen Myrat Pazziyev, but then lost to the two-time Southeast Asian champion Charly Suarez from the Philippines. In the same year, however, he won the Japanese National Athletic Meeting and the Japanese championships. He beat Kenji Fujita and Koki Inoue in the finals.

At the Asian Championships in Jordan in 2013 he beat Meder Mamakeyev from Kyrgyzstan in the first fight , but then lost to two-time Olympian Sailom Adi . He also made a successful start at the 2013 World Championships in Astana against Michael Alexander from Trinidad and Anwar Junussow from Tajikistan. In the second round, however, came the end against Luis Arcón from Venezuela. He also won the Japanese lightweight championship again. For 2013 he was voted the best boxer in Japan by the Japanese amateur boxing association.

In 2014 he switched back to bantamweight, but retired in the final of the national qualification for participation in the Asian Games against Kenji Fujita. Then he switched back to lightweight. In 2015 he won the President's Cup in Indonesia with a final victory against the Mongols Dordschnjambuugiin Otgondalai , gold medalist at the 2014 Asian Games. Narimatsu also won a bronze medal at the 2015 Asian Championships in Thailand. He was eliminated in the semifinals against the Kazakhs Zakir Safiullin, after he had previously defeated the starters from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam.

In October 2015 he took part in the World Championships in Qatar and defeated the Egyptian Mahmoud Abdel-Aal, before a defeat against the Ukrainian Timur Belyak in the round of 16. In November 2015 he won the Japanese championship again. He was subsequently named Boxer of the Month for November by the Asian Boxing Confederation for his achievements that year.

In 2016 he qualified for the Rio Summer Olympics . He had prevailed in the national qualification in January against Satoshi Shimizu, who had won an Olympic medal in 2012. He then competed in the Asian-Oceanic eliminations in China from March to April. There he was able to defeat the Kyrgyz Bek Kamchybekov and the Jordanian Obada al-Kasbeh in the entry rounds, then suffered a defeat in the semifinals against the Mongols Dordschnjambuugiin Otgondalai, but then defeated the Chinese Shan Jun in the fight for the last qualifying place.

At the Olympic Games in Rio he won the preliminary round 2-1 against Luis Cabrera , but was eliminated in the round of 16 against Carlos Balderas 3-0. In 2017 and 2018 Narimatsu won the Japanese light welterweight championship by winning the final against Yuta Akiyama.

In 2018 he started in the light welterweight division at the Asian Games in Indonesia and was able to reach the semi-finals, where he was eliminated with a bronze medal against Iqboljon Xoldorov . At the Asian Championships in Thailand in 2019 , he was eliminated from the Philippines in the first fight against Ray Ocana. In addition, he started in 2019 at the World Championships in Russia , where he was knocked out 2: 3 against the Brazilian Wanderson de Oliveira before reaching the medal ranks. He had previously defeated Ali Aljassas from Saudi Arabia (5-0) and the Georgian Otar Eranossian (4-0).
