The Dalli-Werke ( spelling dalli group ) are a German drugstore manufacturer. The family business is managed in the fifth generation by one of the shareholders, Hermann Wirtz . The company produces detergents , cleaning agents and cleaning agents as well as body care , cosmetics and sun protection products . In 2007 the range was expanded to include natural cosmetics . The Dalli Group is also represented in the perfumery business with its subsidiary Mäurer & Wirtz . Own brands are dalli ,Dash , Evidur and Glix , as well as through the daughter M&W u. a. the perfume brands 4711 , Tabac Original , Nonchalance and Sir Irisch Moos.

The Dalli Group is mainly in the private label active -Business, is home producer of the German discounters. The products there are for example Tandil ( Aldi ), Cien ( Lidl ), Balea ( dm ) or Blik ( Penny ).

Production takes place at a total of seven locations. In addition to the headquarters, these are Stolberg Win Cosmetic in Flörsheim-Dalsheim , Win Aerosol in Westerburg , Dalli-De Klok in Heerde and Hoensbroek in the Netherlands and Win Warth in the town of the same name in Warth in Austria. In autumn 2014, Dalli took over a detergent plant in Timișoara, Romania, from Procter & Gamble .

The central distribution warehouse is located near the Eschweiler district of Nothberg and is popularly known there as the “Dalli-Bunker” because it is reminiscent of an air raid shelter .

With an annual production of more than 400,000 tons, Dalli is the second largest private label manufacturer in Europe.

history

The company was founded in 1845 by Andreas August Wirtz for soap production in Stolberg and is therefore one of the oldest detergent manufacturers in Germany. The dalli brand , which is still sold today, has been protected since 1899 . The company's current headquarters on Zweifaller Strasse on the southern outskirts of Oberstolberg was acquired in 1909. Large-scale mass production began in 1913 with 150 employees, and in 1938 the Dalli-Werke took over two soap factories in Berlin and Vienna, which now have more than 700 employees. Production of the Tandil brand began in the 1960s . The riar cosmetics and body care range was also introduced. The expansion of the production facilities in Stolberg, which now has around 2000 employees, then took place in the 1970s. The plant in Spain that was taken over in 2010 was sold again in 2014.

In 2015, the Dalli-Werke produced over 180,000 bottles of shower gel for refugees in a relief effort. As part of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic , the company donated over 1,000 liters of disinfectant to the city of Aachen.
