history

In 1914, in the village of Dambo, which belongs to Dan-Issa, one of the first customs posts was set up, at which taxes were to be paid for cross-border trade between Niger, then French, and Nigeria, then British . The rural community of Dan-Issa emerged as an administrative unit in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the eastern part of the canton of Madarounfa.
