Tchadoua is a rural community in the Aguié department in Niger .

geography

Tchadoua lies at the transition from the Sudan to the Sahel zone . The neighboring communities are Sarkin Haoussa in the north, Aguié in the east, Dan-Issa in the south, Djiratawa in the south-west and Saé Saboua in the north-west. The municipality is divided into 51 administrative villages, one traditional village, 41 hamlets and seven camps. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village of Tchadoua.

The Forêt classée de Dan Gado is a 4300 hectare protected forest area in the municipality of Tchadoua. It was placed under protection in 1951.

history

The rural community of Tchadoua emerged from the western part of the canton of Aguié in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform. In the flood disaster in West and Central Africa in 2010 , 1,827 residents of Tchadoua were classified as disaster victims.

population

At the 2001 census, Tchadoua had 65,619 inhabitants. At the 2012 census, the population was 93,208.

Economy and Infrastructure

The community lies at the transition from the zone of rain-fed farming in the north to the zone of irrigated farming in the south. There is a cattle market in Tchadoua. The market day is Friday. National road 1 between Maradi and Aguié and national road 19 towards Mayahi run through Tchadoua .
