Daniel Fritz (politician)

Johann Daniel Fritz (born September 20, 1777 in Friedberg ; † April 7, 1845 in Darmstadt ) was a merchant, mayor and member of the state parliament.

Daniel Fritz was the son of the trader Johannes Fritz and his wife Anna Magdalena nee Bauch. Daniel Fritz, who was of Protestant denomination, married Maria Katharina nee Gerth.

Daniel Fritz worked as a trader. Initially he settled in Frankfurt am Main , but returned to Friedberg in 1800. He became an alderman in 1822 and was mayor of Friedberg from 1825 to 1845 .

From 1826 to 1830 and 1834 to 1845 he represented the constituency of the city of Friedberg in the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . There he represented liberal-conservative positions. After his death, Philipp Preusser was elected to the chamber in a by-election in 1845.
