Carl Damm (politician, 1857)

Carl Adam Damm (born November 15, 1857 in Friedberg ; † May 4, 1926 ibid) was a Hessian liberal politician ( DFP , FVP and DDP ) and former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in of the Weimar Republic .

Life

Carl Damm was the son of the grocer Adam Damm and his wife Anna Josepha, nee Specht. He was married to Maria, nee Ulrich. He founded a printing company and the Neue Friedberger Zeitung .

In the 32nd to 36th electoral term (1902-1918) Carl Damm was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the constituency of Friedberg in the 32nd to 34th electoral period and then the constituency of Upper Hesse 17. After the November Revolution, he was a member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse for the DDP from 1919 to 1921.

In 1889 he became a city councilor, in 1901 an alderman for the city of Friedberg. In 1891 he became chairman of the Friedberg local health insurance fund.

Honors

Carl-Damm-Strasse in Friedberg is named after him.
