Daniel Kipchirchir Komen (born November 27, 1984 in Chemorgong , Koibatek District ) is a Kenyan medium and long-distance runner who ranks among the world's best in the 1500 meter distance .

The African vice-junior champion in the 5000-meter run of 2003 appeared for the first time in Europe in 2004, where he ran the 1500 m in 3: 34.66 minutes and the 5000 m in 13: 16.26 minutes.

With times of 3: 30.01 min over 1500 m, 3: 48.49 min in the mile run and 7: 31.98 min over 3000 m , he was one of the favorites at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , where he was in Forward failed. In the further course of the season, however, he won three IAAF Golden League meetings, including the ISTAF in Berlin, where he stayed under three and a half minutes for the first time with 3: 29.72 minutes.

In 2006 he won silver at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow and ran the world best time of the year with 3: 29.02.

At the 2007 World Championships in Osaka he failed in the semi-finals, but reported back at the 2008 World Indoor Championships in Valencia, where he again won the silver medal.
