Daniel Müller (* 1661 in Kirchwerder ; † January 12, 1724 Lübeck ) was a lawyer and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Daniel Müller was the son of Pastor Jakob Müller at St. Severini in Kirchwerder in the Vierlanden . From 1681 to 1684 he studied law at the Universities of Giessen and Strasbourg . His Grand Tour took him through France , England and the Netherlands . In 1685 he briefly returned to his hometown Lübeck and then traveled to Copenhagen . From there he accompanied a Danish nobleman on his Grand Tour from 1688 to 1690 as court master to Vienna , Italyand the Netherlands. He became secretary to the Danish Chancellor and Privy Councilor Conrad von Reventlow . In 1695 he became council secretary in Lübeck. In 1708 he was elected to the Lübeck council and appointed mayor of Lübeck in 1717 .

A daughter of Müller married the Lübeck councilor Georg Heinrich Gercken .
