Daniel Nicholls (born May 7, 1990 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand ice hockey player who spent most of his career with the Canterbury Red Devils in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League .

Career

Daniel Nicholls played at the beginning of his career as an ice hockey player with the Canterbury Red Devils in Christchurch , for which he played in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League for the first time in the 2008 season. This season he was voted the best new professional . In 2009 he won the New Zealand Championship with his team and two years later he was named the best defender in the league. In 2012 he moved to the North Island to the West Auckland Admirals . However, he returned to his hometown after just one season and was again national champion with the Red Devils in 2013. Then he ended his career.

International

In the junior division, Nicholls stood for New Zealand at the U18 World Championships in 2007 and 2008 and the U20 World Championships in 2008 and 2010 in Division III.

With the men's national team , the defender took part in the World Championships of Division III in 2009 and Division II in 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2013 , when he achieved the best plus / minus balance of the tournament.
