Danutė Jočienė

Danutė Jočienė (birth name Sadauskaitė , born November 10, 1970 in the district of Akmenė ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, international lawyer , judge in the constitutional court of Lithuania . She became known through her appointment at the age of 33 as the youngest judge in the history of the European Court of Human Rights .

In 1986, after eight years, Danutė Sadauskaitė graduated from school in Tučiai ( Mažeikiai district ) and in 1989 with distinction (silver medal) from Viekšniai near Mažeikiai . From 1986 to 1989, Danutė Sadauskaitė graduated from the School for Young Teachers (of Lithuanian Language and Literature) at Vilnius University . After graduating from high school, she dreamed of studying the Lithuanian language and literature, as she was fascinated by the work of the educator and read the books (especially poetry). Since his written work on the Abitur examination in Lithuanian passed the precise examination of the Commission for Education of Mažeikiai Raion unexpectedly with 'good' (instead of 'very good'), Danutė decided to study differently at the university. From 1989 to 1994 graduated Danutė Sadauskaitė the Diploma in Law with honors and a PhD in European law on the implementation of the Convention of the Council of Europe in national law (also Law ) at the Vilniaus universitetas .

From 1993 to 1996 she worked at the Research Institute for Law as a research assistant, from 1993 to 1996 as a lawyer at the Inspectorate for the Protection of Cultural Property, at the Department of European Law at the Lithuanian Government and as a representative of the Republic of Lithuania at the European Court of Human Rights (2003-2004 ). From November 1, 2004 to October 2013, she was a judge at the European Court of Human Rights. She has been a judge at the Constitutional Court of Lithuania since March 20, 2014 . She was proposed as a candidate by Gintaras Kryževičius , President of Lietuvos Aukščiausiasis Teismas .

Danutė Jočienė teaches international law , international contract law, regulation and the legal status of NGOs at the Vilnius University Law Faculty . She was an assistant, editor and lecturer. Jočienė led the seminars, working groups, course work, diploma and master's theses. She was also the coordinator of distance courses (in cooperation with the Institute of Human Rights in Turku / Abo), Vice Dean (responsible for the distance learning department) of the Faculty of Law at Vilnius University.

Danutė Jočienė can take part in numerous research stays and lectures in Germany ( Heidelberg , Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law ), Finland ( Turku / Äbo), Switzerland ( Lausanne ), Netherlands ( The Hague ), France ( Strasbourg ), Austria ( Salzburg ), Spain ( Castellon ), Belgium ( Brussels ), Latvia ( Riga ).

As an expert in the Lithuanian government, she worked on the Coordinating Committee for Human Rights ( CDDH ) and the Committee for the Improvement of Procedures of Human Rights (DH-PR).
