Darıkent ( Kurdish : Muxindî, Muxundî ) is a village and a belediye in the Mazgirt district of the Tunceli Province in Turkey .
The original name of the village is Muhundu. The origin and meaning of the name are unknown.
Darıkent is also the name of Bucak , which includes the villages Aktarla, Doğucak Geçitveren, Gelincik Güleç, İbimahmut, Kartutan, Kızılkale , Koyunuşağı, Kuşaklı, Kuşhane, Ortaharman, Otlukıntak, Särükoçen, Sarokelüçen, Särükoçen, Särükoçen, Sarükoenk and Sarıçöcek .
The population of Darıkent has steadily decreased since 1985. At that time there were 2,048 people in Darıkent. In 1994 there were around 1,458 people. At that time the place was the scene of fierce fighting. On September 11, 1994, fighters from the Kurdistan Workers' Party first knocked out the Jandarma guard , attacked Darıkent and killed six teachers and kidnapped two others. In 2008 there were also attacks and fighting in the area around the town. In 2009 the population was 208 people.
According to Law no. 5747 Darıkent to his status than losing Belediye (Municipality).
