Darnac is a commune déléguée in the French commune of Val-d'Oire-et-Gartempe with 378 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The residents call themselves Darnachauds or Darnachaudes .

On January 1, 2019, the Darnac municipality merged with Thiat , Saint-Barbant and Bussière-Poitevine to form the Commune nouvelle Val-d'Oire-et-Gartempe. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality belonged to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , the Haute-Vienne department , the Bellac arrondissement and the canton of Châteauponsac .

location

It was bordered by Thiat to the north, Oradour-Saint-Genest to the east, Saint-Sornin-la-Marche to the south and Bussière-Poitevine to the west. The Brame forms the border with Thiat and then flows into the Gartempe as a right tributary .
