Bussière-Poitevine is a village and a former French community with 841 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belonged to the arrondissement of Bellac and the canton of Bellac .

With effect from January 1, 2019, Bussière-Poitevine was merged with Thiat , Saint-Barbant and Darnac to form the Commune nouvelle Val-d'Oire-et-Gartempe and has since had the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality .

It was bordered to the north by Lathus-Saint-Rémy , to the northeast by Thiat, to the east by Darnac, to the southeast by Saint-Sornin-la-Marche , to the south by Saint-Bonnet-de-Bellac , to the southwest by Saint-Barbant and to the northwest at Adriers .

During the French Revolution the place was called "Bussière-l'Égalité".
