Darrell Hadari Britt-Gibson (born 1985 in Silver Spring , Maryland ) is an American actor . He first gained fame through the role of Darius "O-Dog" Hill from the series The Wire .

Early years

Darrell Britt-Gibson is from Silver Spring. He is the son of writer and journalist Donna Britt and her first husband Greg Gibson. He also has two brothers, a younger half-brother and an older one, Justin Britt-Gibson, who works as a screenwriter and producer. The parents divorced when Justin was four years old. He attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County , where he earned a degree in theater.

Career

Britt-Gibson has been an actor since 2006. In his first role, he was repeatedly as Darius "O-Dog" Hill on the hit series The Wire the transmitter HBO seen in the fourth and fifth season. This was followed by guest appearances in Southland , Shameless , The Bridge - America and Major Crimes . In 2014 he starred as Darrell in the final season of the series Californication . Other supporting roles followed as Rolla in Power and Moises in Get Shorty .

Britt-Gibson has appeared as Shistain in You're the Worst since 2014 . In 2018 he took on the role of Jermaine Jefrint in Barry . In 2016 he appeared as Trunk in the action comedy Keanu and as Julian in Century Women. In 2017 he took on a supporting role as Jerome in the drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri .
