Darren Hunter Anderson (* 11. January 1969 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is a former American American football poker players. He played seven seasons as cornerback in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

From 1988 to 1991 Anderson played college football at the University of Toledo with the Toledo Rockets . After college, he was selected in the 1992 NFL Draft as the 93rd player by the New England Patriots . On July 22, 1992, he signed his first professional contract. On September 27, 1992, the Patriots activated Anderson from their Practice Squad . He was released on October 3, 1993. On October 7th, he was reassigned to the Practice Squad. On October 29, 1992, Anderson was released again by the Patriots. He only played one game during his time in Boston. On November 1, 1992, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enlisted Anderson for their Practice Squad. On August 24, 1994, the Buccaneers traded Anderson for a draft pick in the 1995 NFL Draft for the Kansas City Chiefs . There he played in a total of 53 games until 1997. On October 1, 1998, Anderson was signed by the Atlanta Falcons . With the Falcons he reached Super Bowl XXXIII , for which he was inactive. The Falcons lost the game to the Denver Broncos .

After his playing career, he went into finance. In 2011, the Detroit Lions hired him as a Pro Player Assistant. In 2014 he became a scout for the Midwest. He was released two days after the 2016 NFL Draft .
