action

Secret agent Richard Warren, masquerading as a journalist, travels to the Venezuelan capital Caracas to sell a secret uranium formula to a wealthy prospect for $ 100,000. In the bar of the Hotel Excelsior, the attractive stripper speaks to Sylvia, star of the nightly entertainment show, who allegedly wants to give him an important message and therefore asks him to visit her in her room after the show. But, says Sylvia, he should be very careful. When Warren enters her room, all he finds is her lying dead. She was shot, right next to her lies the eponymous red tassel. Warren fears that he will be suspected of murder and therefore escapes via the balcony outside. He goes into hiding in the music shop across the street, where a Danish woman named Regina works. She works as a temporary worker in this record store owned by her sister. Regina believes in his innocence and is ready to help Warren, if necessary also to lie to the police. But is she really as harmless, sincere and innocent as she pretends to be?

A commissioner named Dr. Bordeaux starts the investigation and searches for the killer he thinks Warren is. Of course, he also stops at the hotel's music store and questions Regina. This makes a false statement for Richard's sake. Regina and Richard fall in love and spend a brief period of happiness in Regina's apartment just above the record store. A little later, however, Warren begins to doubt his new flame, because he discovers a revolver with an attached tassel in Regina's drawer. And a shot was fired from this weapon. A suspicion smoulders in Richard: Should Regina have shot the stripper? But what would be your motive for the murder? Suddenly, however, it turns out that Commissioner Bordeaux is not who he claims to be, but rather an opposing agent who himself is after the uranium formula. Regina now begins to play a dangerous game and tries to sell the formula, which according to Richard's statement should be extremely valuable, in Richard's name and through her daring is in mortal danger, especially since Richard has found out who the murderer Sylvias is.

Reviews

Paimann's film lists summed up: "In contrast to more skilful ones, an illogical-opaque crime story with a national as well as qualitative, mixed actor collective whose Dalmatian landscapes (are) better than the unsuccessful street shots."

"Poor agent thriller that develops its plot rather unmotivated."
