action

The two teenagers David and Sarah travel in a caravan from Baghdad to Damascus in the 19th century . While stopping in an oasis town , the "jackal", a slave trader , tries to buy the young Lady Sarah. But Sarah's companion, the doctor Geoffrey, prevents this and the jackal threatens vengeance. David's parents want to join Sarah and Geoffrey and travel on to Damascus with them. But the jackal carried out his threat and attacks the caravan. During the attack, he kills David's parents. David decides to travel to Damascus alone with Sarah and Geoffrey. On the same day they set out and spend the night in an oasis. Geoffrey wants to leave the two young people alone for a short time, but he does not return. David goes on a search and discovers that the jackal and his entourage have set up camp not far from them. When he discovered that the jackal had murdered Geoffrey as ice-cold, David immediately made his way back to the oasis. He tells Sarah what he has seen and the two flee.

After many hours of wandering around, they discover a wonderful paradise. You decide to stay. Little by little they settle in: They discover nature, build a little hut out of palm trees and make friends with a chimpanzee, whom they baptize "Doctor Peter". When David wants to kiss Sarah, she refuses. David is angry and leaves offended. But Doctor Peter draws his attention to the fact that the jackal kidnapped Sarah. David wants to save Sarah and rides to the tribe's camp. There he disguises himself as a slave. It remains undetected until it is stung by a scorpion. He cries out in pain.

Sarah and David can escape and hide. David is doing badly, he has to fight for his life after the scorpion sting, but he survives. Sarah realizes her feelings for David and they both spend a passionate night together. As they ride on, they encounter the jackal again. There is a great fight. David has to face the sheikh and wins, he kills the slave trader. Sarah confesses to David that she is pregnant. When Sarah and David are at the end of their tether, they discover Damascus on the horizon.
