Game of the year 2005: Children's game of the year

The little ghost is a board game for children by Kai Haferkamp . The game was published by Kosmos-Verlag in 2005 and was named Children's Game of the Year in the same year . The idea is based on the children's book of the same name by Otfried Preußler . One round of play symbolizes the witching hour of the little ghost at Eulenstein Castle.

The rules of the game are very simple, a good mix of skill and memory is required. The game is designed for two to four players, but the number of glass marbles also allows five players.

Furnishing

  • 01 ghost
  • 01 marble run in the box lid
  • 01 red clock stick
  • 02 turntables
  • 13 doors with magnets
  • 13 tiles with pictures
  • 40 glass balls

Game objective

Each player receives eight cannon balls, which he must try to get rid of. To do this, he must correctly reveal the respective symbols displayed on the watch. Whoever got rid of his balls first wins.

Game flow

It is the turn of the players to turn. The player whose turn it is turns the clock forward one hour and a symbol is displayed. He must reveal this symbol under the doors that cover the symbols on the playing field, similar to memory . The door is uncovered with the ghost, to which a magnet is attached, as well as on the doors. This promotes the child's dexterity. If the player reveals the correct symbol, he may turn the clock forward one hour. This goes on until he has either managed twelve hours or typed wrong. For each door that the player has opened correctly, he may now place one of the cannon balls in the ball track, which is equipped with recesses and into which the balls fit. While the other players count down from ten to zero, the player must try to get his balls into the depressions by tilting the field. He must put the balls that were not sunk back into his supply. Now the clock is set back to twelve o'clock without moving the symbols and it is the next player's turn.
