The Daukenbach is a four and a half kilometers long right and northern tributary of the Seemenbach in the Hessian Wetteraukreis .

geography

course

The Daukenbach rises at an altitude of about 353  m above sea level. NHN south of Gedern - Wenings in a field on the southwest slope of the Pfaffenlöhchen ( 393.3  m above sea level ).

It initially flows a good two hundred meters to the west, then bends to the left and now runs east of the Galgenberg ( 392.5  m above sea level ) through grassland towards the south. At the Katzenhecke forest area , it passes the Floßbach desert and flows past the ruins of the Stumpe Church . His path then leads past a small mixed forest on the left; on the other side, the bank borders on farmland. It changes its direction to the south-southwest and now moves through a meadow landscape. The stream then divides into two arms and shortly afterwards feeds two small ponds. At the northern edge of Kefenrod , the two arms reunite and the stream crosses the village in a south-westerly direction. In the center of the village, it is reinforced on the left by a small inlet.

The Daukenbach disappears underground and finally flows into a verdolt at an altitude of about 258  m above sea level. NHN from the right into the Seemenbach .

Its 4.6 km long run ends about 95 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 21 ‰.
