David Carstens (boxer)
David Carstens (* 1. January 1913 as David Krynauw Enslin Carstens in South Africa ; † August 1955 ) was a South African boxer in light heavyweight .
At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 , Carstens defeated the German Hans Berger in the quarter-finals and the Dane Peter Joergensen in the semifinals, each on points and thus stood in the final. There he met the Italian Gino Rossi , whom he also defeated on points, with which he sensationally won the gold medal.
