David Holmes (musician)

David Holmes (born February 14, 1969 in Belfast ) is a Northern Irish musician , DJ and film music composer .

Career

Holmes was best known for his work for Steven Soderbergh , for example for the films Out of Sight , Ocean's Eleven , Ocean's 12 and Ocean's 13 .

Holmes was also active in the field of electronic dance music, so he brought out the Patrick Kraut EP together with Alter Ego .

In 1997 David Holmes published his first solo album Let's Get Killed , which documents a night in New York and is largely based on samples from that time. Bow Down to the Exit Sign followed in 2000 and is conceived as a soundtrack to a story by a friend of David Holmes. Here he worked with Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream and with Jon Spencer , among others .

In 2014 David Holmes made his directorial debut with the short film I Am Here . The film was presented at the 26th Galway Film Fleadh on July 11, 2014 .
