David Landsberg

David Landsberg (born September 3, 1944 in Brooklyn , New York City , † August 5, 2018 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor , screenwriter and producer.

Life

David Landsberg was born in Brooklyn in 1944. His father Arthur was a lawyer, his mother Sylvia a housewife. In 1957 the family moved to Massapequa, where David attended high school. He then went to college for two years and was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1967, where he served in the army's communications corps. Returning the following year, he received a degree in marketing from the University of Maryland in 1970.

He then worked in a large marketing company, but he couldn't get used to it and preferred to pursue his dream of acting. This was followed by television appearances on CPO Sharkey and Landsberg voiced a main character in the animated series The Buford Files . He's made guest appearances on Love Boat , Fantasy Island , Eight Is Enough and Hart But Warm . He was also seen in movies, e. B. The conflict - you or Both , Loose Shoes , Love at First Bite , and Skatetown, USA In the 1980s he combined writing with Lorin Dreyfuss the screenplays for the films The smartass and dive into chaos - Learn When odd birds fly , in which both also played the main roles. These films were not very successful financially, but they did achieve a certain cult status among fans of kitschy 80s comedies.

He was married to Jean Hart from 1966 to 1987 and had two children with her. One month before his 74th birthday, David Landsberg died on August 5, 2018 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to complications from esophageal cancer surgery. He was buried in the Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Hollywood Hills .
