David Lapham

David Lapham (born 1970 in New Jersey ) is an American comic book author . His best-known work is the independent comic series Stray Bullets , which he drew and wrote .

Life

David Lapham began his career in 1990 as a draftsman ( penciller ) for Valiant Comics . He then worked under editor Jim Shooter at Defiant Comics , where they co-created the comic series Warriors of Plasm in 1993 . In 1995 he founded his own publishing house, El Capitan Books , to publish the series Stray Bullets , which he wrote, drew and lettered himself . In 2000, he took a break from working on Stray Bullets in favor of his nine-part crime comic series Murder Me Dead .

From 2005 Lapham was increasingly active in the mainstream comics sector. He wrote a story arc for The Darkness series and a twelve-part Batman storyline for Detective Comics for DC Comics . For the series Daredevil vs. Punisher : Means and Ends at Marvel Comics , he created text and drawings. In 2006, Marvel released Volume 1 of Giant-Size Wolverine with a 34-page story by Lapham drawn by David Aja . DC began releasing Tales of the Unexpected with an eight issue story arc about the Specter written by Lapham . In 2007 his graphic novel Silverfish was published by Vertigo . For the Marvel imprint MAX he drew volumes of the series Terror Inc. He then wrote the Vertigo series Young Liars and was the successor to Garth Ennis as a copywriter for Crossed.

The Stray Bullets story arc didn't finish until 2009 with a story in Dark Horse: Noir . In 2010, Lapham was working on a Predator series for Dark Horse Comics .
