David Schellenschmidt (* 1989 in Berlin-Lichtenberg , real name David Sebastian Schellenberg ) is a German theater and film actor .

Life

Schellenschmidt studied from 2010 to 2014 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

During his studies, he worked with directors Dimiter Gotscheff , René Pollesch and Jutta Hoffman , among others . Parallel to his acting studies, he already played at the Schaubühne Berlin and the Theater am Rand by Thomas Rühman and Tobias Morgenstern . In connection with the protests about the new construction of the "Ernst Busch" in Zinnowitzer Strasse, he disrupted the live broadcast of Günther Jauch on May 6, 2012 and thus attracted nationwide attention.

After studying acting he became a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Mainz and played there from 2014 to 2016. Among other things, he played the role of Johann in the world premiere of Anna Segher's Kopflohn , which was invited to the Ruhr Festival under the direction of KD Schmidt and the dramatization by Dirk Laucke has been. At the Mainz State Theater he also worked with the directors Jan-Christoph Gockel, Jakob Ahlbom and Klaus Schumacher .

In 2016 Schellenschmidt returned to Berlin and founded the Traumschüff theater cooperative. It is a mobile theater ship that mainly plays in rural regions in Brandenburg , Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The cooperative deals with socio-political issues in the regions it visits and writes its own plays based on local research. At Traumschüff eG, he directed the productions Bibergeil and Treue Handbuch .

In addition to his theater work, he also takes part in various television films and TV series.
