occupation

Deadly Weekend ( German  Deadly weekend , in the original Zellwood ) is an American horror film from the year 2013. One of the main roles took over the American Playmate and model Sara Jean Underwood .

action

The film centers around friends Matt and Ryan and their friends Katie and Britney, respectively, who all live in Zellwood , Florida . Matt plans to move from Zellwood to New York for work. For this reason, he and Ryan are planning to spend their last short vacation together with their friends for the time being. This is supposed to take place at a campsite recommended by Bo, a boat rental company who lives with his daughters Zoe and Abby near the site.

On the first evening of the vacation, the friends consume alcohol and other drugs together . Uninhibited as a result, Britney tells that she slept with her professor when she was a student , which Ryan displeases. Due to Ryan's taunts, Britney then carelessly reveals that Ryan had sex with Matt's friend Katie in the past , but before they became a couple. Matt, to whom this was unknown and who generally tends to be jealous , takes this very negatively and initially leaves the group angry.

When Katie and Ryan tried to appease Matt the next day, stressing again and again that the sex took place before their relationship, Matt primarily argues that he could not understand why they kept this from him and sarcastically begins his sexual performance with that of Ryan to compare. When he gets into a physical altercation with Ryan shortly afterwards, he leaves the campsite and runs into a nearby forest. Despite the previous argument, Ryan follows him to find Matt and bring him back. Before he finds it, however, he is knocked down from behind with a branch and shortly afterwards murdered .

Matt - who was unaware of the murder - returns to the campsite shortly afterwards. In addition to Katie and Britney, Zoe is now also there, and Abby also joins them later. When Britney worries about Ryan, she leaves with Zoe and Abby to find Ryan, while Katie and Matt stay behind.

Britney, who discovers traces of blood in the forest, returns a short time later with Zoe and Abby to the campsite and explains what happened to Katie and Matt. The group decides to call for help in Bo's house. When they get there, Katie, Britney and Matt are supplied with drinks by Zoe and Abby, which are, however , mixed with knockout drops , so that the three of them pass out.

When they get this back, Katie and Britney are in a room shielded with foil, with Katie being tied to the floor and Britney being tied to a chair. Abby and Zoe enter the room and first torture Britney by hammering her carpenter's nails into her hands. They explain to Katie that they enjoy torturing and killing people. A short time later, they take Britney's life by opening her stomach with a hedge trimmer.

Matt - who woke up tied up in another room, but was able to free himself - initially manages to leave the house. But when he realizes that Katie must still be in the house and he returns, he is stabbed by Abby. When he tries to escape again injured, Abby and Zoe catch up with him and kill him. In the meantime Katie has managed to loosen the shackles, whereupon she escapes and desperately stops a passing car. The driver of the car is Bo, who pretends to take her to the police, but then takes her back to his house and later asks his daughters if they want some fun.

Bo and his daughters then suggest a game of hide and seek to Katie: If she manages to get away from Bo and his daughters, they will not kill them. Katie flees to a nearby greenhouse, but is quickly tracked down and wounded by Bo and his daughters. Even if she manages to free herself for a short time and tries to get into Bo's car, he is already waiting for her there. Bo's wife joins them for a short time and is greeted by him. What exactly happens to Katie is left open.

The film ends with a scene set six months in the future, showing Bo's family on an outing. Bo and his wife explain to their daughters that they are planning a family holiday with all their relatives. Katie is only dealt with indirectly: Zoe asks her father what about Katie, to which the latter replies that she will come with me. When Abby then suspiciously asks the question "But she belongs to us alone?" Her parents tell her that there are other victims and they could soon "play with very fresh Katies". However, the viewer does not find out more about Katie's whereabouts or the course of said family celebration.

background

As is briefly explained at the beginning of the film, the film takes place in the census-designated place Zellwood in Florida , where most of the filming took place in addition to Orlando, Florida . This is also directly addressed in the original version of the film with the film title Zellwood , while the German version opted for the completely different title Deadly Weekend instead.

The age rating of the voluntary self-regulation of the film industry is 18 years, but the German version of the film is only available in a two-minute shorter cut version. In Austria and Switzerland, the uncut version of the film is distributed as Deadly Weekend Unrated - Limited Gold Version with a German soundtrack.

Deadly Weekend was released on DVD , Blu-ray Disc and video-on-demand ; a steelbook version of the film is currently not available.

Deadly Weekend was rated negatively by a large number of critics: the current rating in the Internet Movie Database is 2.9 / 10 based on 541 user votes (as of 06/19) and the film is currently rated 1.5 on Moviepilot / 10 (as of 06/19).

In July 2016, the company published Tiberius film - which also sells Deadly Weekend in Germany - the among other things, Jaclyn Swedberg occupied movie Another Deadly Weekend ( German  Another deadly weekend , in the original Muck ). Due to the similar name design, almost identical lettering and a similar cover design, it is inevitably suggested that the two films are related. In fact, there is no such thing; rather, they are completely independent films.
