Dean Capobianco

Dean Capobianco (born May 11, 1970 in Perth ) is a former Australian athlete .

He won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in 1988 with the Australian 4 x 400 meter relay. In 1991 he took part in the World Championships for active athletes, where he reached the semi-finals in the 200-meter run . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , he was eliminated in the preliminary stages. In 1993 he was able to reach the finals at the World Championships . With a personal best of 20.18 seconds, he finished fifth in Stuttgart . At the 1995 World Championships , however, he was eliminated in advance. Shortly before the 1996 Olympic Games , Capobianco was tested positive for stanozolol in a doping control , but was allowed to start after an objection in Atlanta , where he reached the quarter-finals. In the further course of the proceedings, however, he was subsequently disqualified and banned for two years. In 1999 he took part again in the World Championships , where he was eliminated in the run-up.
