Dean Goodhill

Dean Goodhill (born October 23, 1944 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film editor .

Life

Goodhill was an actor and drama student in high school and graduated from the American National Theater & Academy. After graduating, he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Neighborhood Playhouse . He got his first impressions of film editing during an internship at the American Film Institute . During this time he worked as a photographer , especially in the music world for bands like The Doors , The Rolling Stones and The Bee Gees .

Peter Weller and Goodhill tried to produce a feature film in which Weller would play the lead role and Goodhill would direct, but ultimately failed because of funding. So he tried to gain a foothold in post-production, started as a sound designer and finally worked his way up to the film editor .

Goodhill's greatest success to date is the film Auf der Flucht , for which he was nominated for an Oscar with Don Brochu , David Finfer , Dov Hoenig , Richard Nord and Dennis Virkler .
