Richard Nord is an American film editor .

Life

After completing his studies in Cinema Studies at New York University , Nord initially worked as an assistant editor in the 1980s. During this time he was u. a. involved in editing the Woody Allen films A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982) and Zelig . He worked several times with editors Sam O'Steen and Susan E. Morse .

Starting with the movie Strictly Business from 1991, Nord worked as an independent editor. This was the first of several films that he collaborated with director Kevin Hooks .

Nord was also part of the editing team for the film Auf der Flucht . Together with his colleagues Dennis Virkler , David Finfer , Dean Goodhill , Don Brochu and Dov Hoenig , he was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1994 for working on this production . There was also a nomination for the British Academy Film Award in the same category and for the Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors .

To date, Nord has been involved in more than 30 productions, including several television films, and occasionally series.
